The Russian Oreshnik missile that hit Yuzhmash did not have explosives – Reuters

The warheads of the new Russian medium-range ballistic missile Oreshnik, which hit the Yuzhmash plant in Dnepropetrovsk, were not packed with explosives.

Reuters writes about this citing two high-ranking Ukrainian government sources.

According to them, the use of new weapons is more similar to the warning that Russia gave to Ukraine for its use of Western missiles on Russian territory.

“The sources’ comments support the Kremlin’s description that the weapon was used as a warning to the West after the United States and the United Kingdom allowed Ukraine to fire its missiles at Russia.” – says the material.

According to a Ukrainian official, the Russian missile allegedly carried “dummy warheads.” He described the damage caused as “fairly minor.”

It is also noted that currently Ukrainian and Western experts continue to study the places where the Oreshnik blocks impacted; kyiv has not yet made official statements on this issue.

Previously EADaily reported that the use of the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile is a message that there is no need to joke with Russia. This was stated by the “Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Major General Pavel Muraveiko.
