Former Vladivostok mayor Igor Pushkarev, sentenced to 15 years in prison in a maximum security colony, signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense. This was stated by his lawyer Ruslan Omelchenko, reports Kommersant.
Pushkarev was convicted in 2019 of bribery worth 75 million rubles. The court also considered it proven that the official’s relatives received 471.7 million rubles as a result of illegal fraud.
In December 2023, Oleg Gumenyuk, former mayor of Vladivostok from 2019 to 2021, went to the special operations zone. He was also sentenced for bribery, but to 12 years.
