The secret of the “bite mark” that can change the course of Nari’s trial! Expert statement

Türkiye has been closely monitoring the progress of the trial related to the crime of Narin Guran for months. As part of the investigation, notable images of the injuries of Nari’s imprisoned brother, Enes Guran, were shared.

Oku.AzAccording to the information provided by CNN (Turkish) in this regard, the forensic medical investigations have been published in the media.

The bite mark on the arm of Enes Gura, detained as a suspect after the death of Narin Gura, was one of the most discussed details of the investigation. At the time, it was assumed that the bite marks on Enes Gura’s arm (probably appearing between August 21 and 24) could belong to Narin. On August 25, the II Specialization Council for Forensic Medicine examined medical documents, models and molds of oral measurements, photographs, videos and graphics related to Enes Guran and his mother Yüksel Guran.

The report prepared according to the results of the investigation mentions the impossibility of clearly distinguishing whether the bite on Enes Gura’s arm belonged to Yüksel Gura, Narin Gura or himself. However, Enes Guran claimed that this bite mark belonged to him.

Nevzat Alkan, professor at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, spoke about these wounds.

According to the professor, although the bite marks were measured, it was not possible to determine whether they belonged to a child or an adult.

“For this reason, an important piece of evidence was lost without evaluation. Because determining who the bite belonged to was necessary to clarify the incident.”

In addition, the scratches on Enes Gura’s eyes drew attention.

“There are scratches similar to nail marks on the bottom of the eye. There is bleeding in the eye, indicating that the eye was hit. Enes Guran claimed that it was caused by a corn cob.”

The expert stressed that it is impossible to reevaluate this evidence.

It should be remembered that on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of the Baglar district of Diyarbakır missing The lifeless body of 8-year-old Narin Gura was found in the Egertutmaz River 19 days later, on September 8.

Among the 23 suspects detained as part of the investigation carried out by the Diyarbakir Prosecutor General’s Office, 12 people were arrested, including Salim (uncle), Yüksel (mother) and Enes (brother) Guranlar, as well as their neighbor Nevzat Bakhtiyar. The trial, which began on November 7 at the Diyarbakir Heavy Criminal Court, was postponed until December 26 following the statements of the accused.
