The government’s bill on the exchange of information on criminal records which can benefit ETA prisoners It was rejected this Monday by the absolute majority of the PP in the Senate. NOW, the text returns to Congress to continue processing.
Last September, it was approved by Congress and sent to the Senate without no group introduced vetoes or amendments. In this way, it was assumed that once rejected by the Upper House – where the PP has an absolute majority – the text would end up being published in the BOE. However, following the vote and based on a report from Senate lawyers, the President Pedro Rollan announced that this rejection is intended as a veto and, therefore, the text returns to the Congress of Deputieswhere it must be debated and voted on again, according to parliamentary sources.
