The trial in the criminal case of Asim Aliyev, former head of the operational department of the Operational Research Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), accused of fraud by promising to obtain construction permit documents on state-owned land, has ended.
According to information obtained by “Report”, the former head of that department, Captain Asim Aliyev, was convicted in the trial held at the Baku Military Court.
According to the verdict, he was sentenced to three years in prison for this act. His current sentence was combined with the verdict of the Baku Serious Crimes Court in 2023.
Asim Aliyev was sentenced to six years and six months in prison, with the right to hold certain positions and carry out certain activities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a period of two years.
According to the indictment, he made false promises to individuals that he could organize the acquisition of documents on the ownership of residential houses built on the territories owned by the state company, on which any construction is prohibited in Baku, as well as those land plots, as well as the relevant construction permits. For this reason, he was found guilty of defrauding the victims by taking a large amount of money from them.
Asim Aliyev was charged with articles 178.2.2, 178.2.3, 178.2.4 of the Criminal Code (repeated fraud by a group of pre-conspirators by using their position of duty and causing considerable damage).
It should be noted that Asim Aliyev was arrested in 2023 and sentenced to five years and six months in prison by a ruling by the Baku Serious Crimes Court.
