Ridley Scott’s Gladiator 2 broke a box office record, grossing $87 million over the weekend. The Guardian reports this.
The film was screened in 63 countries and had a particularly good box office in France: $10.3 million in 729 theaters. At the same time, the film has not yet been released in the US, Canada and China, but has already become the highest-grossing debut of all the director’s films.
At the same time, Scott’s new film did not become a record release in 2024. Thus, during the first weekend, the film “Dune: Part Two” grossed $97 million, Pixar’s animated film “Inside Out 2” earned $140 million and Disney’s “Deadpool and Wolverine” earned $233 million.
