Seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton has dropped out of seventh place in qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

After qualifying, Mercedes decided to change the engine and several components on Lewis’ car, including the turbine and generators. Hamilton was given a penalty for exceeding the permitted number of component changes during a season.
But it’s not just Lewis Hamilton who will start from the pit lane in Baku. He will also be joined by Esteban Ocon and Alpin driver Pierre Gasly, who was penalised for violating fuel consumption rules in the last qualifying round.
