Kamchatka’s Shiveluch volcano emitted its second column of ash in one day and volcanic particles from the first emission have already reached Ust-Kamchatsk, reports the Kamchatka volcanic eruption response team of the branch’s Institute of Volcanology and Seismology from the Russian Far East. “On the morning of November 8, the Shiveluch volcano in Kamchatka spewed ash 5 kilometers above sea level. On the afternoon of November 7, the explosions raised ash 11 kilometers above sea level. The ash column from the first emission extended 300 kilometers east of the volcano and the particles fell in Ust-Kamchatsk.” – the group reported.
The volcano is located 50 kilometers north of the village of Klyuchi and 450 kilometers from the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Shiveluch is one of the most active giants on the peninsula and the northernmost.
