A preliminary hearing of the trial of Rashad Labib oglu Labibov, accused of Article 178.3.2 of the Criminal Code (fraud, causing great damage) of the Criminal Code, was held at the Baku Court of Serious Crimes. The hearing was chaired by Judge Fakhri Mammadov.
Oku.AzAccording to the information provided by the accused, the data from the questionnaire of the accused was first clarified. Then the data from the questionnaire of the victims of the criminal case – Rufat Idris oglu Akbarov and Fuzuli Museyib oglu Jafarov – were clarified.
The victim’s representative filed a petition and said that the accused has 2 identity cards:
“Therefore, he can also leave the country at any time with an identity document in the name of Rashad Imran oghlu Karimov. I request that a pre-trial detention order be issued against him.”
The accused, Rashad Labib oglu Labibov, made a speech and admitted that he himself made the second identity document on the computer and noted that he did not avoid any subpoenas during the preliminary investigation.
Looking at the electronic system, the judge clarified that Rashad Labibov has the second ID. It turned out that Rashad simply made it himself. The reason was that the other party could not find out his personal information.
Commenting on the request of the victim’s representative, prosecutor Tural Yagubov left the matter to the discretion of the court.
After returning from the consultation, the court made the decision to submit the case to judicial review and arrest Rashad Labibov outside the courtroom.
The trial was postponed until September 17.
According to the indictment, Rashad Labib oglu Labibov received 95,000 manats from two people from the Sabail region in order to get a job, but in the end he did not fulfill his promise. He worked in one of the capital’s publishing houses until the criminal case was initiated.
During the investigation it was revealed that Rashad Labibov is the son of Labib Labibov, a member of the Azerbaijani Union of Journalists and former deputy editor of the Azerbaijan Publishing House.
