“Last week I was in Saudi Arabia and met with the people from Aramco. I have worked with several oil companies over the years. Aramco is exceptional in its ambitions, its facilities and its global reach. Next , I was in Sakura and met the Honda engineers working on the 2026 program. And there too. there was excitement and enthusiasm for our common future,” says the engine engineer who arrives from Mercedes.
“Honda and Aramco they work together a lot. It’s about finding out which chemical compounds work best in the engine’s combustion chamber. Many candidate fuels are being tested in the Sakura single-cylinder,” he explains.
And everyone is looking towards 2026. This could be the key moment for an Alonso already 43 years old and that he does not give up fighting for his third Formula 1 world championship title.
“I think 2026 is an opportunity for everyone. But we are already working hard to make the car faster by 2025. And we are working hard with Aramco, Honda and our new facilities for 2026 to 2030. We are growing and we hope that will take us further,” says Cowell.
Because Fernando wants short-term results. He refused to give up on next year and the team, with the new wind tunnel, already working on all the improvements.
