Theater and film actor, director and star screenwriter of the TV series “Matchmakers” Alexander Feklistov admitted that he continued to work in Russia even after the start of a special military operation until all his projects were closed. He spoke about this in an interview with the Sheinkin40 podcast.
“I had the feeling that the viewer was going to the theater, they had a different attention. But then they closed one show, they closed another show, they closed a third.” – recalls Feklistov.
According to him, some of the proceedings were closed precisely because of his statements. The artist pointed out that he was almost completely left without work and that is why he decided to flee the country.
“I was not prepared to work as a janitor or stoker, but my future was in Russia,” – he stated.

After the start of the SVO, he recorded a video message to the Russian government, taking the courage to speak on behalf of the entire population of the country, which caused a negative reaction from users of the social networks and several colleagues. In particular, the actress Tatiana Vasilyeva I thought the artist had simply “lost his mind.”
“I can only explain this by some kind of madness. I don’t know, he is a very calm and peaceful person, a very good actor. We played with him a lot. It’s a Russian thing. Kind of a country house, fishing… I can only explain it as crazy.” – she said.
Her colleague in the television series “Matchmakers”, the actress, also condemned her stance. Tatiana Kravchenko. According to her, neither he nor the other fugitive artists understand anything about politics.
“Why do they bother? Donetsk, my favorite city, was bombed for nine years. I am originally from Donetsk and I know all those streets. These are tears” – said Kravchenko.
