The storm that shook eastern Andalusia did not cause as much damage in Grenade like its neighbor Almería, but the north of the province was affected. Especially the region of Active, where today, DANA should do its job again. There and a little further down, in the region of Guadix.
The most significant incidents were the closure of two roads: the A-4200, near the municipality of Benamaureland the GR-9109, in Cullar. In both cases, traffic was diverted and redirected along the A-92 motorway. Arrests were recorded, but there were no injuries.
At night, the atmospheric phenomenon was also strong in the Guadix region. In these two areas of the province, Guadix and Baza, the forecasts of the National Meteorological Agency (Aémet) point out that today it will continue to rain intensely, to the point that it could exceed eighty liters per square meter.
Emergency services recorded around fifty calls alerting incidents, the majority concerning flooding of basement and garageas well as the fall of a retaining wall. They also occurred on the coast, but in this case they were more caused by wind. Some branches fell and the power supply was interrupted.
Cúllar and Benamaurel, both located in the Baza region, were the most affected municipalities, although in Guadix the water entered through the roof of the municipal theater, which was flooded and forced the firefighters to intervene . In his region, damage was recorded in small towns like Dollar and Hueneja.
In the capital of Granada it rained overnight, but lightly. Yeah the storm caught our attention which happened around ten o’clock in the evening, with a large electrical appliance. No precipitation is expected today, although it will be early tomorrow.
For this Tuesday, October 29, Aemet predicts winds up to 60-70 kilometerss per hour on the Costa Tropical, but no rain. It does not plan it for the capital and the eastern part of the province either. The precipitation, as has been said, will occur mainly in Guadix and Baza, as well as in Huescar.
