The municipality packed Istiqlal -MoskeeCentral Jakarta, to implement Eid al -Fitr prayer 1446 hijri. Not only from Jakarta came the pilgrims who also came from outside the city.

Najwa Mojo (23) and Naula Mojo (21) from Manado, North Sulawesi. Id -prayer in Masjd Istiqlal is the first experience of Najwa and his younger brother. Najwa is prepared for the Istiqlal -Mosque for ID prayers since 5.00 WIB.

“We are overseas children, so we are from Manado, North Sulawesi. We have just arrived (Istiqlal -Moskee), the OTW from Oost -Jakarta at 05.15, around that hour,” said Najwa in the Istiqlal -Moskee, Monday (3/2025).

“Yes, this is the first time that we, thank goodness, have the opportunity to eid here, so we pray at Istiqlal at all,” he said.

Naula said that the atmosphere in the Istiqlal -Mosque was very busy. According to him, it was very different compared to the experience of the ID prayer in his hometown.

“Wow, it’s really busy, thank goodness, I am usually when in Manado prays in the mosque at the house, so it’s rich when prayer here is as busy as this, thank goodness, I have a new atmosphere,” he said.

In the meantime, Didik (55), a resident of Jakarta, always claimed ID prayers in the Istiqlal -Moskee. According to him, the ID prayer in the Istiqlal -Mosque can get to know many pilgrims from outside the region.

“I come from Kemayoran, every ID prayer is always in Istiqlal. Because there is more diverse here that comes from everywhere, as in the mosque around yes, people are just there, so the interaction is wider,” Didik said.

Didik thought that this year’s ID prayer in the Istiqlal -Mosque was more orderly than the previous year. This can be seen from the queue of pilgrims when entering the mosque area.

“In my opinion, it was more complicated last year, because the door was closed before the queue, now it’s smoother, better,” he said.
