The strong wind completely collapses one of the access panels to Farcama in La Vega in Toledo

The weather forecasts came true. The entrance to the Toledo Craft Fair, Farcama, which should have opened this Wednesday, was knocked down by the strong gusts of wind that reached the city of Toledo. Everything happened at one of the entrances to Paseo de la Vega, whose stand suffered a lot of damage, with the letters announcing the fair on the ground. Fortunately, there were no injuries, since the organizing committee of the fair had suspended the institutional inauguration of the 43rd edition as well as the activity of the first day in Vega Park, due to the weather forecast which held back the city ​​of Toledo. , already a good part of the province, under yellow alert due to gusts of wind which can exceed 70 kilometers per hour throughout the day, and this caused the closure of the city’s municipal parks and gardens.

The celebration of the institutional inauguration ceremony was scheduled for this Wednesday morning, at 11 a.m., under the tent located on Sisebuto Promenade.

The Toledo City Council has activated the Alert phase of the city’s Municipal Territorial Emergency Plan, which provides for the closure of parks and gardens where there is a risk of falling branches, including in this decree the Jardines de la Vega in which the fair is located.
