The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation will consider a complaint against former senator Arashukov to life imprisonment

The Supreme Court will consider the appeal to life imprisonment for former senator of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic Rauf Arashukov on October 23, according to the court file.

“Hearing (open court): 10/23/2024”, – says the case card.

The verdict against all defendants in the case was handed down in December 2022. Law enforcement officers detained Rauf Arashukov on January 30, 2019 during a plenary meeting of the Federation Council. The Arashukovs were sentenced to life imprisonment for hitmen; his case was heard separately; the other four defendants received sentences ranging from 5 to 22 years. In addition, Arashukov Sr. was found guilty of stealing more than 4.4 billion rubles from Gazprom structures in southern Russia. The ruling came into force, RIA Novosti recalls.
