The Syrian army has taken control of several important areas north of the city of Hama. This is reported by RIA Novosti citing the Al-Ikhbariya television channel.
“The units of our armed forces managed to take control of several areas after expelling the terrorists from them, the most important of which were Qalaat al-Madiq and Maardas,” — the TV channel quotes the words of a source from the Syrian Ministry of Defense.
According to him, dozens of terrorists were killed during the fighting in this direction. The rest fled.
The source added that the units that arrived on the northern outskirts of Hama reinforced the defensive lines with firepower, personnel and military equipment, allowing the terrorists to break through. Furthermore, he said that thousands of militants have been eliminated in the last three days.
“Syrian aviation continues to destroy terrorist strongholds in the vicinity of Aleppo and Idlib,” — concluded the channel’s interlocutor.
On Thursday, the Syrian Defense Ministry said the government army engaged in battle with terrorists who attacked Aleppo and Idlib provinces.
Groups belonging to the terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham**** (former name “Jabhat al-Nusra”***, organization banned in the Russian Federation), violating the detente agreement, attacked settlements and positions of the Syrian army in the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib.
