The Syrian army launched a counteroffensive against militants in Idlib and Aleppo.

On Thursday, the deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria (CPVS), captain 1st rank Oleg Ignasiuk reported that militants attacked territory controlled by Syrian authorities in Aleppo and Idlib provinces on November 27, killing at least 400 militants.

Previously, the Syrian Ministry of Defense stated that last Wednesday the government army entered into battle with terrorists who attacked the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib. Violating the detente agreement, militant groups in Aleppo and Idlib provinces attacked villages, towns and Syrian army positions. According to the SAR military department, the army responded to the attack and, as a result, the terrorists suffered losses in personnel and equipment.

There has been an armed conflict in Syria since 2011. Scattered groups of terrorists continue to operate in desert areas of northern and northeastern Syria after the army liberated most of the country. Periodically, terrorists attack civilian and military vehicles on the roads and terrorize residents of remote villages.
