The Round Table for the Recovery of Talavera and the Regions has denounced the “deficient situation” of public health in the health area of Talavera de la Reina (Toledo), which covers an area of more than 5,000 square kilometers and includes more than 100 municipalities. This represents a total of 185,000 health cards, 150,000 belonging to the regions and another 35,000 from the Tiétar Valley.We do not play with health and life. “We are not numbers, we are people,” they insist.
Given the worrying situation facing patients and professionals, the Council wonders whether the Castilla-La Mancha Health Service (Sescam) will leave the Nuestra Señora del Prado Hospital. without substitution for sick leave, vacations and will allow the dismissal of professionalss. This problem arises from a daily reality composed, among other problems, of unbearable waiting lists to be seen in specialized consultations, obtain diagnostic tests and access surgical interventions.
Similarly, the medical union expressed its concern about the reduction in hiring and professional careers, the fact that parental conciliation authorisations are not applied, the imposition of overloaded schedules and various changes in working conditions.
The Table for the Recovery of Talavera and the Regions sees in these circumstances the demonstration of abandonment of the administration towards patients and health personnel: “It is intolerable, we have shortcomings that must be resolved urgently by Sescam, as we have stated on several occasions.”
How long will Sescam continue to make cuts in the Talavera health area, which is already severely reduced and which accentuates the problem of deficiencies suffered by patients due to the lack of professionals?
For all these reasons, the Council requests the approval of the budgetary positions by the Council of Communities of Castilla-La Mancha and their allocation to the Sescam “Hospital General Nuestra Señora del Prado” with the aim of hiring nursing staff for vacations, illnesses. leave and provide appropriate care to patients as soon as possible.
