The tile of the Resurrected Lord of Cordoba appears to have been repaired after the act of vandalism it suffered

The Brotherhood of the Risen Lord reports on its social networks the return to normal and appreciates “the offer and the desire to restore the work” of this artist in the piece which recalls the 25th anniversary of the image of Our Risen Lord.

This fragment has found the same tone as before the event, in gray and color gradients. Javier Ayala, son of the painter Juan Manuel Ayala, is the young artist specializing in tiles from different eras who did not hesitate to save the broken head of San Rafael del Triunfo in the Plaza del Alpargate and handed it over to the police after the devastation this caused storm Bernard, in October 2023.

In August Subsequently, the Brotherhood of the Risen One reported to the police the vandalism of this altar installed in the Plaza del Conde de Priego, in front of the parish of Santa Marina, on the north facade of the former convent of Santa Isabel.

The corporation regretted at the time the attack that this element of its heritage had suffered with something thrown with force which struck the tile, which is an object of devotion, and caused sentimental damage to this devotion, since candles were lit and prayed daily.

It was a brother who realized what had happened this summer and the brotherhood set about partially resolving the damage as quickly as possible, and from the first moment they understood that it was not a question of a landslide.

The ceramic altarpiece, blessed in October 2014, was made by the Sevillian ceramist Emilio Sánchez Palacios, to a design by Rafael de Rueda, from Cordoba, for the 25th anniversary of the creation of the image of the Lord, when Manuel Murillo was the older brother.

It was designed with a niche harmoniously integrated into the old convent and instead with individual tiles 20 by 20 centimeters.
