Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said that the country’s parliament will meet 10 days after the announcement of the official election results, that is, on November 25.
Oku.Az aspny.ge reported on this.
He responded to the question about the legitimacy of the country’s legislative body.
According to the Prime Minister, in any country the parliament does not need the legitimacy of the opposition and, if this were not the case, no democratic system could function.
“As for the first session of Parliament, as you know, the deadlines are determined by the Constitution of Georgia. We assume that Salome Zurabishvili, who remains the formal President of Georgia, will again violate the Constitution of Georgia and will not schedule the case, the Georgian parliament will not publish the official results of the elections and will then meet on the tenth day, that is, November 25. This is determined by the Constitution,” Kobakhidze said.
