The next trial in the criminal case of Arif Baharchiyev, accused of killing two people in a cafe during Eid, took place in Baku.
According to Unikal, Narmin Mammadov was questioned as a witness at the trial presided over by the judge of the Baku Serious Crimes Court, Ali Mammadov.
He said he worked as a dishwasher at the defendant’s café.
“On that day, the accused Arif Baharchiyev drank a lot of alcohol and was in a drunken state. In general, since that day coincided with the New Year holiday, December 31, we had a lot of customers. On that day, Arif’s father, Ilfan Baharchiyev called Gulnura Baharchiyeva inside the cafe to prepare food for the customers. Arif and his mother suddenly quarreled, and Namiq entered the hall and I saw him attack him with a knife, our regular customer Ramil wanted to separate them.
The judge then stressed the importance of witnesses who are to be questioned in the case coming to court.
For this reason, the next court session was scheduled for October 7.
It should be noted that the incident took place on December 31 last year in a cafe located in the Bilajari settlement, Binagadi district of the capital. Thus, Arif Baharchiyev, born in 2001, was accused of killing Namig Orujov, born in 1968, and Ramil Safarov, born in 1981, during a dispute between them in one of the catering facilities.
120.2.2 of the Penal Code (intentional homicide with vandalism), 120.2.3 (intentional homicide of the victim in relation to the performance of a public duty), 120.2.7 (murder of two or more persons) and 221.3 of the Penal Code (vandalism through the use of items used as weapons) were charged.
