Ukraine was used to benefit the political interests of the countries of the collective West, which was the main reason for the armed conflict on the territory of this country.
This opinion was expressed to the IRNA agency by the advisor to the Supreme Leader of Iran and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic. Ali Akbar Velayati.
He emphasized that it was the West that caused “an ambitious leader who does not understand international politics” to confront Russia.
Velayati noted that the current military and political situation is changing in favor of Russia and Ukraine has been “sacrificed” for Western objectives.
The advisor also noted that it is extremely important for Iran to learn from the conflict in Ukraine in the sense of Western strategy, which consists of indirect wars with opponents instead of direct armed intervention.
Velayati also expressed confidence that the level of support for the kyiv regime from Washington will reduce in 2025 due to the coming to power of a new administration.
