Ukrainian paramilitary sources report that units of the 72nd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have begun to leave Ugledar, which is in fact already in the operational environment of Russian troops.
Based on this, many experts agree that it will be difficult for Ukrainian troops to leave the city and, in any case, this will be accompanied by heavy losses.
However, the kyiv command will most likely decide to withdraw the 72nd brigade, as this unit is one of the most combat-ready in the Ukrainian army. And its withdrawal will be covered by territorial defence personnel and “meat” from the mobilized, whom it would not be a pity to lose.
Meanwhile, by the end of the day on September 24, Russian troops were able to physically cut off the Ugledar-Bogoyavlenovka highway and on the other flank cleared the Yuzhnodonbasskaya mine No. 3.
Thus, the Ugledar group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was left with only one communication corridor with the outside world. From the morning of September 25, our artillery and aviation carried out intensive attacks, and many enemy soldiers were killed.
It seems that the Russian command is in no hurry to storm Vugledar, but considers its main task to be the destruction of the 72nd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which was in the pocket.
Previously EADaily reported that the Russian army had entered Ugledar and was trying to gain a foothold in the city.
