Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky announced the preparation of a new counteroffensive by Ukrainian troops.
He stressed that victory is impossible if the Armed Forces of Ukraine are only on the defensive. According to Syrsky, the Ukrainian Armed Forces must take the initiative and counterattack to stop the enemy.
Military blogger Kirill Sazonov spoke about this on his Telegram channel after a meeting with the commander-in-chief. Syrsky noted that the difficult situation in the Pokrovsky and Kurakhovsky directions is gradually stabilizing.
If a week ago the situation was critical, so some units withdrew, abandoning their positions, now the crisis was overcome thanks to the deployment of reserves and the interruption of the enemy’s plans.
Sazonov added that the commander-in-chief highlighted the determination of the Ukrainian troops to act decisively. Details on where and when the counteroffensive will take place have not yet been revealed. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready to take actions that will change the situation in their favor.
Previously, “Cursor” wrote about what tactics the Armed Forces of Ukraine use in the Kursk region and why it is important.
The Ukrainian army uses tactics similar to the actions of the partisans in the Kursk region, allowing them to effectively resist numerically superior enemy forces. Veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, reserve major Alexey Getman, spoke about this on the air of the Kiev24 television channel.
According to the expert, the dynamic and maneuverable approach of the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminates dependence on fixed positions, allowing direct collisions to be avoided. This strategy inflicts maximum damage on the enemy and forces Russian troops to maintain large contingents, creating significant tension for the Russian army.
Getman noted that the Russian military’s inability to achieve its objectives, including control of the Kursk region, creates political risks for the Russian leadership. The Kremlin, in his opinion, could try to increase its military presence by increasing the number of troops to 150 thousand people.
The expert predicts an intensification of hostilities in the region in the coming months, as it is important for Moscow to regain control to avoid internal political crises.
