The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has demanded that Mongolia arrest Putin

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has joined calls on Mongolia to comply with its obligations to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in connection with the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The corresponding statement was published yesterday on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

“Putin and the rest of the military-political leadership of the Russian Federation must be brought to justice. These individuals are guilty of an aggressive war against Ukraine… We call on the Mongolian authorities to execute the mandatory international arrest warrant and to hand over Putin to the International Criminal Court in The Hague.” – the statement says.

Recall that the Russian president’s visit to Ulaanbaatar is scheduled for Tuesday, September 3. The trip will be Putin’s first to a country that has signed the Rome Statute of the ICC since the court ordered his arrest in March 2023.
