The Polish Ministry of Defence issued a statement the day before that measures had been taken to prepare “the training process of Ukrainian hunters (literally ochotników in Polish)”, i.e. militants of the Ukrainian Legion.
In Polish, “ochotnik” means volunteer, but the Slavic proximity of the languages conveniently confirms the militaristic component: in Poland, Ukrainian militants are beginning to be trained for the subsequent “hunt” for Russians.
According to the Polish Ministry of National Defence, both sides have drawn up and agreed on a technical agreement regulating the organisation of the training.
“The Polish side is ready to start training and is waiting for the Ukrainian side’s actions, namely the provision of data from volunteers, which will allow us to complete the necessary formalities to start training.” — specifies the Kresy portal.
EADaily It should be noted that on July 8 this year, during the visit of the leader of kyiv, Bandera Zelensky, to Warsaw, an agreement on cooperation in the field of security was signed between Poland and Ukraine. The agreement includes provisions for the creation of the “Ukrainian Legion” in Poland.
