This Tuesday, the Municipal Council welcomed the signing of the collaboration agreement between the Federation of the Union of Comparsas of Moors And Christians Ber-Long and Waters of Alicante to boost the 50th anniversary Moors and Christians of Saint Vincent del Raspeig (Alicante) with the development of a vast commemorative program which will begin next Saturday October 19.
The mayor, Pachi Pascualand the Festival advisor, Christian Gilaccompanied the president of the Federation, Ricardo Bernabéuand the general director of Aguas de Alicante, Sergio Sanchezduring the signing of the agreement between the two entities and the presentation of the activities that will be carried out until the end of the year.
Pascual thanked the involvement of Aguas de Alicante, a company that he presented as “a reference in environmental matters, but also in other social and cultural issues and it is an example of collaboration in which I believe that it is one of the most important events in recent years in our municipality, such as the celebration of the 50th anniversary of our Moors and Christians, marked by great social involvement.
Bernabeu also expressed its gratitude to Aguas de Alicante “for everything it is going to do for the 50th anniversary” and expressed the hope that the sealed collaboration commitment goes beyond this commemoration. The president of Union of Comparisons stressed that “it is essential that the companies contribute to the success and growth of our festivals, which strengthens our sense of community and local identity.
During the signing, Sergio Sánchez reaffirmed “the commitment of our company to society and to the municipalities in which we work and this could not be better expressed than with the signing of this agreement which also arrives on this important date for the Feast of the Moors and Christians of San Vicente and it will surely go well and continue over time. The general director of Aguas de Alicante recalled other initiatives developed in the municipality regarding environment And training and to support other celebrations such as bonfires.
Gala and commemorative video
The mayor of San Vicente del Raspeig announced the start this Saturday, October 19, of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Moors and Christians in the municipality with a gala in the Plaza de la Comunidad Valenciana where the honorary committee will be announced. In this regard, Ricardo Bernabeu revealed that the director of Aguas de Alicante would be one of its components. During the gala, a commemorative video which takes a tour of the history of the Moors and Christians of San Vicente.
The Holiday Advisor, Christian Gilconfirmed that another of the flagship events will be the promotion of the 50th anniversary of the Moors and Christians Festival in Expofiestaat the Alicantina Fair Institution (IFA) on November 8, 9 and 10. The councilor explained that “coinciding with this celebration, the municipal council has made a great effort to quadruple he space where the four main entities of San Vicente will be represented, namely the Federation of Bonfires, Holy Week, Moors and Christians and the Municipal Commission of Fiestas.
Gil said that it will also be at this provincial fair where the video that was prepared on the occasion of the candidacy presented for the declaration of National tourist interest of the Moors and Christians Festival of San Vicente.
Another of the events planned this year is a concert that will take place on October 26 by the Musical Society THE Hope with the corals of the municipality in which a selection of Moorish and Christian pieces by different composers from the Valencian Community will be performed.
