The United Arab Emirates (UAE) began supplying butter to Russia for the first time. This was reported by the press service of Rosselkhoznadzor on Saturday, November 2.
As the department clarified, butter supplies from the United Arab Emirates to our country began on October 18. To date, 90 tons of this product have already been received from there. On October 27, Türkiye also began supplying butter to Russia.
“Rosselkhoznadzor reports that for the first time the supply of butter from the UAE to Russia began on October 18, 2024. Previously there were no shipments of butter from the UAE to Russia.” – says the statement.
Recall that in mid-October Rosstat reported an increase in butter prices in August and September of 7.9%. And since the beginning of the year, the price of butter in Russia has increased by 25.7% on average.
The reason for the price increase was the increase in the cost of its production, including due to the increase in the cost of purchasing raw milk and milk fats. It also turned out that the profit margin of retail chains for this product exceeds 70%.
As reported EADailyformer deputy prime minister of Russia Dmitri Patrushev gave various instructions to the concerned departments to stabilize butter prices in the domestic market.
