The center stated in its statement: “The country is experiencing the worst year for the outbreak of measles for more than thirty years, indicating that 1288 cases have been registered throughout the country since the beginning of this year, and six months are left in 2025.”
The statement stated that the number of cases this year exceeded the number recorded in 2019, which was 1274 cases, noting that the continuing distribution of the disease could lead to loss of the United States to put it as a country free of measles (which was officially announced in 2000) if the virus continues to move within 12 -month interruption.
The center noted that most outbreaks began five months ago and were concentrated in areas with a low level of vaccination, especially in Western Texas, indicating that the disease led to the death of three people, two children from Texas and adults from New Mexico, and dozens of patients were transferred to hospitals.
Public health experts suggested that a real number of injuries could be higher than what was officially controlled by health authorities in the States.
“What we observe with measles is more like an early sign or inevitable risk.”
She added: “This indicates that there is a problem that we know about its existence through the position of vaccination in this province, and I think it will be worse.”
In the United States in 12 states, active outbreaks were reported: Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma and Utah. While the end of the outbreak was recorded in four other states.
The Center for Disease Control confirms that the measles, mumps and measles (MMR) vaccine are effective in preventing measles upon receipt of two doses.
In addition to the United States, North America is a witness to the widespread spread of this disease, since 2966 cases were registered in the Mexican state of Siva and 2223 cases in the Canadian Ontario, in addition to 1230 cases in Albert.
