Washington – The United States (USA) has released a wave of new sanctions against Iranian oil exports. This was the first sanction in Tehran’s energy sector, since the ceasefire supported by Washington between Israel and Iran entered into force last month.

Among those who were the goal of sanctions announced on Thursday (4/7/2025) were the Iraqi businessman Salim Ahmed, and his company, based on the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which was accused of smuggling Iranian oil, mixing it with Iraqi oil.

“Iran’s behavior destroyed him. Despite many opportunities to choose the world, its leaders have chosen extremism, ”said US Minister of Finance Scott Demon.

“The Ministry of Finance will continue to focus on the source of Tehran’s income and strengthen economic pressure to violate access to the regime to financial resources that initiate destabilization activities,” he explained.

After the ceasefire was reached on June 24, US President Donald Trump said that China could buy Iranian oil, which showed that the United States can cancel its sanctions regarding Tehran’s energy export.

However, the promise did not last long. Last week, Trump wrote on social networks that he “immediately stopped all the work on providing medical care” in response to the statement of the supreme leader of Iran Ali Khameni, who defeated Israel.

The US President also said that he prevented Israel to kill Hameni, saving him from “very bad and offended death.”
