The UPN asks the provincial government to guarantee the economic viability of the Huarte ice rink in budgets

He UPN parliamentary group urged the Government of Navarra to guarantee the economic viability of the Huarte ice rink in the next Budget 2025 and this allocates an amount of at least 300,000 euros for this purpose.

This amount, as indicated by the regionalists in a press release, should be used both to make the necessary investments and to cover the deficit in management of sports facilities. For that, The UPN registered a motion for his next debate in the Parliament of Navarre.

As indicated, last February the Huarte City Council made public the deficit situation of the ice rink and even proposed its closure if it did not receive aid from the Government of Navarra.

In March, representatives of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Commission visited the Ice Rink and met with municipal elected officials and representatives of the federated sphere to learn first-hand the financial situation of the installation.

Subsequently, a working session took place with the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Rebeca Esnaola, during which all groups urged her to seek a solution this would enable its viability.

Six months after requesting the government’s commitment, the UPN declares that it does not know the formula that it will propose to resolve the serious financing problem that the Huarte City Council has with its ice rink, which is why it considered it appropriate to present a movement with a concrete proposal.
