The works of urbanization from the Army Logistics Base (BLET) of Cordoba have already arrived two thirds of its execution (63 percent to be exact) and are progressing at a faster pace than initially planned, even if the technical management of the complex maintains the deadline. mid-2025 for its completion.
Added to this is the upcoming completion of construction project of the Base, with more than thirty buildings and that UTE Ingeniería BIM Córdoba has been developing for more than a year. Likewise, the completion date is set at March next year and the intention of the Army Logistics Command (MALE) is to issue a tender for the first buildings by May.
The president of the Confederation of Businessmen of Zaragoza participated in the event, Miguel Mars; the mayor of Córdoba, José María Bellido; the mayor of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca; the president of the CECO, Antonio Diaz; the vice-rector for Digital Transformation, Sébastien Ventura and the delegate of the Andalusian Government in Cordoba, Adolfo Molina. The lieutenant general was also Fernando Garcia and Garcia de las Hijashead of the Army Logistics Support Command.
The two news were announced this afternoon in Zaragoza where the employers’ association of Cordoba CECO, through the Investor Support Office, and in collaboration with the CEOE of Aragon, presented the BLET details to local entrepreneurs, taking advantage of the specific weight that the logistics sector in Zaragoza currently has.
The initial infrastructure budget exceeds 350 million euros and the date of entry into service is estimated at 2028. This amount would amount to 500 million with all the technological equipment necessary for a center which will be the advanced figurehead of the Land Force. Of this amount, 25 million euros correspond to the City Hall, 100 million were committed by the Junta de Andalucía and the rest is borne by the Government.
Consolidation
There is another key in the assembly of the Logistics Base, it is the urbanization of the 110 hectares which surround it in the Rinconada and which is run by a public and private pool made up of the Cordoba City Hall, the Andalusian Housing and Rehabilitation Agency (AVRA) and individuals. A total of 92 plots with a budget of 56.5 million.
The urbanization project is waiting for the Ministry of Transport to give final approval to the changes introduced in the link from A-4 to Base which should be immediate. From there, and once the consolidation has been registered in the Land Register, the sector compensation commission will launch a call for tenders for the work which must be a continuation of that already in progress.
This is the other major commitment of Córdoba to fully integrate the auxiliary industries who wish to be close to BLET.
More land for La Rinconada
The mayor recalled that the General Plan is innovated through the PGOM to integrate another million more meters places next to this neighborhood of La Rinconada. To this he added other projects such as El Álamo (in progress), the El Higuerón logistics zone next to the freight station and the current Army vehicle fleet.
Bellido sold the tax policies of the Town Hall with a reduction in taxes and the stability of the city which grows in inhabitants.
The mayor of Zaragoza insisted on the possibility of creating synergies at the logistical level
“In three and a half years since we were told that he would go to Cordoba, the BLET is very advanced and we are reaching a great example of a logistics platform like Zaragoza; “We want to collaborate, learn and start the railway highway (central branch of the Mediterranean corridor) between Algeciras and Zaragoza, a greater leap in quality,” he stressed.
Natalia Chueca, city councilor of Zaragoza, insisted on the possibilities of creating synergies Logistically, also in a city with a notable military presence. That of Zaragoza is the first logistics platform in Spain and the fourth in Europe. Over the past year, investments worth 20 billion euros to shape a logistics hub and a data ecosystem with projects led by Amazon or Microsoft.
