The US Congress supported several anti-Chinese bills at once

The US House of Representatives has passed several anti-China bills, TASS reports, citing the US House of Representatives’ website on X (formerly Twitter).

According to the agency, one of the bills provides for the creation of a fund in the United States to combat the alleged “malicious influence of the People’s Republic of China.” It is proposed to allocate $325 million annually for these purposes in the period from 2023 to 2027. 351 members of the lower house of Congress voted in favor of the bill and 36 against it.

The upcoming bill provides for the introduction of sanctions against foreign citizens for “economic espionage” in connection with the alleged supply by China of semiconductors manufactured in the United States to the Russian Federation.

Another bill requires the U.S. Treasury to provide data on financial institutions and accounts associated with “senior officials of the People’s Republic of China” to “further limit access to them by their family members and for other purposes.”

In addition, the lower house of Congress approved a bill that would ban the use of US communications infrastructure in the operation of devices manufactured by the Chinese company DJI.

In addition, lawmakers backed an initiative calling on U.S. representatives at the International Monetary Fund to prevent an increase in the yuan’s share in the IMF’s Special Drawing Rights basket (currencies of account).
