The Valencian Community allocates more than 76 million euros in aid to school canteens for the 2024-2025 school year

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Universities and Employment allocates 76,275,000 million euros to school canteen assistance during the 2024-2025 academic year in the Valencian Community. This figure represents 900,000 euros more than the last school year.

The General Directorate of Education Centers has published the provisional lists of catering aid, which are available in all public centers with Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary and Special Education education, as well as in subsidized centers that have a catering service.

Families have until September 23 to submit allegations to these provisional lists, providing the documentation they deem relevant.

In this first provisional resolution, a total of 186,244 requestsof which 65,892 students benefited from the full school meal grant, which represents 52.5% of students.

The remaining applications were ranked according to per capita income and their socio-family situation, establishing a minimum score of 7 points to benefit from school canteen assistance.

Currently, there are already 125,615 students receiving a catering grant and it is expected that throughout the academic year 2024-2025, the figure of 152,450 students will be reached. More than 70% of students who use the dining hall receive some form of assistance.

In the dining room of the scholarships for the new course, the Increase of 10 cents in the maximum aid allocated to each guest, so that, for each day of presence at the restaurant, the student will receive 4.35 euros if he studies Early Childhood, Primary and/or Secondary Education; 5.54 euros for students in special education centers and up to 12.35 euros for students in home schools.

Similarly, in the case of rural areas and those at risk of depopulation, this maximum aid has been increased to 5.65 euros, to guarantee the economic viability of the service.
