The Valencian PSOE will vote in favor of the budgets of Carlos Mazon by 2025. This was announced this Wednesday by the Minister of Science and Universities and Secretary General of the party, Diane Morant.
As he explained, this decision aims to protect aid to families and municipalities affected by DANA which devastated the province and left more than 200 dead.
“The PSPV will be up to the task,” he said in an interview with SER chain.
The budgets of the Generalitat Valenciana, Mazón’s first since he governed in a minority after the break with Vox, have not yet been presented to the Valencian Cortes. The deadline is over last October 31but it was postponed due to the great flood.
The PP, which has only 40 parliamentarians, needs at least the support of another group to be able to approve them. Before the tragedy, the PSPV and Compromís categorically refused to give Mazón this ball of oxygen. popular It was a matter of convincing Vox, which called for measures to combat “illegal immigration”.
In Morant’s opinion, no one would understand why politicians do not currently have helping citizens as their “sole and absolute” priority. “If this is reflected in the budgets, politicians must support these budgets,” he said.
In this regard, the minister considered that the president of the government, Pedro Sanchezdid not link aid to those affected by DANA in Valencia to the existence of new general state budgets, but rather that budgets are “a tool that must reflect the needs of citizens.”
“We have an obligation to present budgets that adequately reflect the needs of citizens, and of course it is up to not only the leaders, but also the rest of the politicians to take care of these points so that they can help citizens,” he added.
