The Valencian PSOE will support the accounts of the Mazón government for 2025 to “cover basic needs” after DANA

The PSPV-PSOE will support the budgets of the Generalitat Valencianagoverned by the PP, by 2025, as announced this Wednesday by the Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities and General Secretary of the Valencian Socialists, Diana Morant.

The minister assured that the representatives of the PSPV-PSOE will help the head of the Consell and president of the PPCV, Carlos Mazón, “so that these budgets adequately collect needs» of the inhabitants of the Valencian Community.

Morant, who announced the decision in an interview on Radio Valencia Cadena Ser reported by Europa Press, said the socialists’ vote in favor of these accounts will be “affirmative”.

“There is no doubt in your mind,” she replied when asked whether her party would support the next regional accounts. “We will help Mazón so that these budgets adequately reflect the needs of our neighbors,” he said.

The representative of the Central Executive and the PSPV-PSOE made this announcement one week after DANA which devastated different localities in the province of Valencia, a storm which claimed the lives of 211 people and as a result of which 89 others are missing.

Sources of the Valencian Socialists affirm that, with this decision, the objective is “Shield” aid for families and communities affected by DANA.

“United, we are stronger and more effective”

“I say clearly that no citizen of this country would understand that today’s politicians do not have as much unique and absolute priority to help citizens. If this is reflected in budgets, politicians must support these budgets,” added Diana Morant.

And he added: “I think what citizens need, what they demand, is that let’s work together to meet their needs and I’m not going to move from there. This is how she expressed herself after being asked about the disaffection towards politicians and criticism towards Mazón and Sánchez for their handling of the consequences of DANA.

“We are sitting here with the Valencian Generalitat to solve together a problem that concerns us all and, therefore, what I believe is that United, we are stronger and more effective», he added regarding actions in favor of people affected by this meteorological phenomenon.

Morant stressed that the Spanish government will be and always is “united with the Valencian Generalitat, the Valencian Provincial Council and the municipalities” concerned: “The State is made up of each of the spheres of administration. »

After these declarations, he valued “the work of the mayors and councilors of the municipalities concerned” by DANA and assured that “they respond, even beyond their capabilities and its possibilities”, to what happened. Likewise, he referred to the municipalities adjacent to the victims, who “sent resources in solidarity”.

“A lot of pain, a lot of indignation”

Asked about the incidents in Paiporta during the visit of Kings Sánchez and Mazón, she replied: “I think that all of society knows that violence is out of place. And I also believe that the violence is anecdotal. What there was was a lot of pain, a lot of indignationmany questions still unanswered, many problems and needs that need to be addressed and that we take care of. “I ask people to trust institutions and society.”

Asked whether he plans to visit an affected population, Morant responded that he has not done so “at the moment” and indicated that I willin addition to specifying that he is in “constant communication with many colleagues” in the damaged places.

“As soon as I can, I’ll go give them a hug.”he declared. He also considered that municipal elected officials “who suffer so much to help their neighbors, must receive great recognition when all this happens.”

The general secretary of the PSPV recalled that she was the first mayor and that she knows “the need that mayors and councilors have for information, coordination, support”. “I have been there and I will continue to be there”he pointed out.
