The warning system transferred to kyiv a year ago never worked – EADaily, October 7, 2024 – Politics News, Ukraine News

Israel has fulfilled its agreement to supply the kyiv regime with an early warning system for missile attacks. This was done last summer, but the system has not yet started working.

The Israeli ambassador to kyiv spoke about this in an interview with the Ukrainian publication Dzerkalo Tizhnya. Michael Brodsky. He noted that all questions about the non-use of weapons should be addressed to the Ukrainian side. According to the diplomat, all obligations assumed by Israel were fulfilled.

The code in question is the Code Red early warning radar system, which was originally installed in the 2000s in areas bordering the Gaza Strip to warn of Palestinian rocket fire.

Then the system spread throughout the country. Reports the launch of missiles and the time remaining before impact. Among the advantages of the system is the ability to relatively accurately calculate the location and time of the rocket fall, which makes it possible to locate the alarm zone in a specific city.

Brodsky also confirmed that Israel “made a decision in principle” to withdraw US-supplied Patriot systems in the early 1990s, but did not answer whether Ukraine could count on receiving these weapons.

He explained that the future of these systems is not yet determined, as Israel now needs all of its air defense systems to repel missiles from Iran, Yemen and Iraq.

Previously EADaily reported that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out airstrikes against Hezbollah targets and weapons depots in Beirut.
