The West Azerbaijani community expressed its opinion on the US position against Azerbaijan

“On October 3, 2024, a group of US congressmen wrote a letter to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and expressed an unacceptable position against Azerbaijan.”

Oku.Az informs that this is stated in the statement of the West Azerbaijan Community.

It was reported that the congressmen took advantage of the celebration in Azerbaijan of the 29th meeting of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to include on Armenia’s agenda all the issues that serve to recreate the conflict in the region, including the release of those responsible for war crimes, attempt to promote issues that go against international law. This is clear blackmail:

“First of all, it should be noted that the holding of COP29 in Azerbaijan is its contribution to the solution of global problems. Secondly, the decision to host COP29 in Azerbaijan has the unanimous support of the countries that are parties to the convention. The attempts by congressmen to use the The issue of COP29 as a means of blackmail is not only directed not at Azerbaijan, but at the world as a whole and international efforts related to climate change.

The authors of the blackmail appeal have such a strong hatred towards Azerbaijan that they discriminate against Azerbaijanis on ethnic and religious grounds, including the ethnic cleansing of more than one million Azerbaijanis from Armenia and the territories of Azerbaijan that were occupied at the time, as well As in the face of the destruction and mining exploitation of those territories by Armenia, they did not even try to hide their indifference. “The style and content of the petition leave no doubt that it was drafted by the United States Department of State.”

“We demand that the United States of America end the policy of blackmail and racial discrimination against Azerbaijan, as well as attempts to create a new conflict in the region, and respect the right of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia to return to their homes,” the statement said.
