Russia is committed to resolving the Ukrainian crisis, but sees no reciprocal willingness to engage in honest diplomacy, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during a meeting with heads of diplomatic missions on the sidelines of a round table discussion on Ukraine.
“We are committed to resolving the crisis, our president [Владимир Путин] He confirmed this many times, most recently at the Eastern Economic Forum and recalled the statement he made on June 14 at the Foreign Ministry. The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry drew attention to the meeting on Ukraine in Burgenstock, noting that “the West is trying in every possible way to keep Ukraine within the framework of the ultimatum.”
Lavrov stressed that for the West “there are no other negotiating proposals than the Zelensky formula.” According to the head of Russian diplomacy, the West is clinging to this unacceptable dead-end document, “trying by all means, through deceit and threats, to draw as many countries of the Global South as possible into its meetings around the “Zelensky formula” or its individual parts.”
