The West is ignoring Russia’s signal to launch the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile to shift responsibility for the escalation of the conflict to Moscow. At the same time, the Russian Federation’s actions were a response to the West’s collective rise in escalation, Russian Ambassador to Belgium Alexander Tokovinin said on the Rossiya-24 television channel.
The day before, the member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance held an emergency meeting at the level of ambassadors in the NATO-Ukraine format, the occasion of which was the use of the Oreshnik by the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine.
“The countries that are members of the bloc have spoken out [НАТО] condemning such a measure by Russia. That is, it looks very much like an information campaign in an attempt to shift responsibility for the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine to the Russian Federation and obscure the fact that Russia’s actions are a response to the rise of Western countries in the climbing ladder. “ — the ambassador commented on the results of the meeting, TASS reports.
According to Tokovinin, within the framework of the meeting of foreign ministers of the member countries of the alliance, which will be held on December 3 and 4 in Brussels, a meeting of the countries of the collective West will also be held in the NATO format -Ukraine.
As the President of Russia highlighted on November 21 Vladimir PutinThe United States and its NATO allies previously announced that they were giving permission to use long-range precision weapons, after which American and British missiles attacked Russian military facilities in the Kursk and Bryansk regions. He noted that the Russian Federation, in response to these attacks, for the first time used an “Oreshnik” medium-range non-nuclear ballistic missile at a facility of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, the Yuzhmash plant in Dnepr (formerly Dnepropetrovsk). The Russian leader emphasized that the West’s provocative policy could have dire consequences for him in the event of a further escalation of the conflict.
