Western countries want Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to pursue an anti-Russian policy, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov told Belarus 1 TV channel.
“The West still wants from Lukashenko what it wanted before: the policy that the West needs today to be applied in Belarus. And this is an anti-Russian policy.” – said.
Ryzhenkov also expressed the opinion that until the conflict in Ukraine ends, “there will be no change in this policy.”
Following the start of the Russian military operation, the US and the EU imposed sanctions not only against Moscow, but also against Minsk. The West has repeatedly accused Belarus of supporting Russia. The Belarusian Foreign Ministry called accusations against the country of “aiding aggression” in connection with the Ukrainian conflict absurd.
Lukashenko, for his part, stressed that Belarus Lukashenko said that Belarus does not want a conflict, but is preparing for war. He has repeatedly stated that Minsk does not intend to participate in the Russian military operation, RBC recalls.
