The work regime will be changed in the Baku metro – OFFICIAL

“During COP29, the nature of the enhanced work regime in the Baku metropolitan area will be changed.”

Oku.Az reports that this was stated by Hidayat Mammadov, Vice President of JSC “Baku Metropolitan”, at the briefing held today.

He said the stations will be open to passengers at 5 am for 3 days, from November 11 to 13:

“During the event, in addition to the traditional work schedule of the management and employees of JSC “Baku Metropoliteni”, additional manpower assigned to stations and areas will be allocated. The main goal, if necessary, is to regulate the management of passenger flow, make operational decisions on the operation of technical and engineering facilities to accelerate their adoption and take other necessary measures.

Passengers will be transported to the COP29 venues, as well as to historical-cultural, socio-public places, leisure centers, etc. located near the stations. Members of the volunteer movement organized by the COP29 Operating Company will operate in shifts at 10 metro stations to more easily organize their movement in directions, use the Baku metro, pay fares and other rules.

According to the request of the COP29 operating company, from November 11 to 13, Baku metro stations will be open to passengers from 05:00 in the morning. In addition, although these days are declared non-working days in our country, the train schedule in the Baku metro will be established according to the usual working days. During the mentioned 3 days, the movement of trains in the “Hezi Aslanov” – “May 28” zone of the Red Line will be 2 minutes in the morning from 07:00 to 10:00 and in the afternoon from 07:00 to 10:00 17:30. at 7:30 p.m.

From the station “May 28”, where the “green” and “red lines” connect, the interval of trains in the directions “Darnagul” (“green line”) and “Icherisheher” (“red line”) will be long double. It should be noted that this is the most optimal possible schedule applied on normal working days in the current period due to the existing technical characteristics of the Baku metro lines.

The interval between “Hezi Aslanov” and the “May 28” zone will be 2.5 minutes during the day, 3 minutes or more in the early morning and evening, when the number of passengers begins to decrease significantly. On weekends the interval between trains will be regulated differently: from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., on Saturdays it will be 2.5 minutes and on Sundays it will be 3 minutes at the same time.

The intervals between trains on the “Purple Line” are set at 8 minutes in the “Autostation” – “8 Noyabr” area and 16 minutes in the “Khojasan” – “Autostation” section.

The train schedules to the “Bakmil” station and vice versa will be adjusted to the schedule on weekdays from November 11 to 13.

During the other days of COP29, rail traffic in the Baku metro will be regulated according to the traditional autumn-winter schedule,” the vice president said.
