The President of the Government describes as false the accusations brought this Thursday in court by the businessman Víctor de Aldama, in preventive detention for corruption, and who pointed out the payment of black money to senior PSOE officials and the Executive. “Regarding the appearance of this character, I want to say that my government is a clean government, born to eliminate corruption,” he told the press in front of Congress after the vote on tax reform .
Sánchez defended that both in the PSOE and in the Executive he presides, “all traces of corruption are uprooted”. “The statements of an alleged criminal who is in prison deserve the credit they get: none,” he added.
The president demanded that Aldama prove the “insinuations and accusations” he made today. And he insisted the government and the Socialist Party were “calm”. “For the PSOE and myself, everything is false because their defense strategy is lies. He does this to divert attention, sow doubt and cover up the alleged cases of corruption attributed to him,” he concluded of a judicial declaration that he has come to despise for its content: “He even said I was waiting for them to start a rally. “What a little invention it is.”
Asked by the press about the motion of censure presented by Feijóo, the president wanted to show his respect to the parliamentary groups and even encouraged the PP to take the plunge. “The motion is a constitutional instrument, therefore with the greatest respect, the parliamentary groups are free and autonomous. It would even be a good opportunity for Feijóo to propose an alternative that is not known, because parliamentary weakness lies in those who are not capable of building majorities,” he expressed.
