There are fewer happy people in Slovakia

In Slovakia, the proportion of people experiencing positive emotions has decreased compared to 2023. This is shown by data from surveys conducted by the NMS and IPčko agencies.

According to sociologists, the number of optimists in the country has decreased by 5% over the year, the number of people who consider themselves happy has decreased by 5%, as well as the number of those who look confidently to the future – by 3%. The most significant deterioration in mood was recorded among Slovak residents aged 44-51.

At the same time, the proportion of people experiencing negative emotions has increased. Almost a third of the population often experiences anxiety and sadness, even if there is no specific reason for it.

Moreover, sociologists point out that negative emotions are most often experienced by young people aged 18 to 27. Every second person at this age experiences anxiety and sadness for no reason – this is 10% more than a year earlier.
