Bishkek is threatened by fecal sources. This was stated by the deputy of the parliament of the republic Dastan Bekeshev, reports Sputnik Kyrgyzstan.
“City residents are worried about the renewal announcements. I think it’s an interesting idea, but I would ask them to take care of the infrastructure first. Our sewage networks are obsolete, faecal sources may soon emerge and the pipes can no longer support them. First of all, it is necessary to update the infrastructure: hot and cold water, sewage, heating supply. Bishkek currently lacks 30 schools and renovation involves the demolition of low-rise buildings and the construction of high-rise buildings. That is, there will be many more people. Where should children go to study, where should city residents receive treatment?” – said Bekeshev.
He urged not to take the idea with hostility and to allocate funds from the state budget to solve the problem.
“Give money to Bishkek for 30 schools, 20 kindergartens and 15 hospitals. About $100 million is needed for sewage, water supply and heating. I also ask you to contribute that money. It is also necessary to provide parking. Don’t forget that due to the violation of the compass rose, the smog situation will be much worse. This means that it is necessary to green the entire city and install irrigation systems. I hope there is a competent approach.” — said the deputy about this.
Previously, the mayor’s office of the Kyrgyz capital reported that the wear and tear of heating networks in the city reaches 80%.
