Turkish police in Izmir detained 15 activists from the Turkish Youth Association (TGB) who seized a crew member of the US landing ship USS WASP and put a bag over his head.
TGB posted a video of the incident on social media. According to a statement from the organization, an American sailor had a bag placed over his head to protest Washington’s support for Israel.
“There is no place in Turkey for American soldiers whose hands are stained with blood! Murderers of our military, Palestinians, Iraqis, Yemenis, get out of our country.” – said representatives of the organization.
The organization also promised that this would happen again.
“Every time you step on these lands we will welcome you as you deserve!” – he said on the TGB page.
The Turkish Defense Ministry previously announced that the ship would dock at the port of Izmir from September 1 to 5.
