There is no torture or mass human rights violations in Russia – EADaily, October 1, 2024 – Politics News, Russian News

Mass human rights violations and torture do not occur in Russia, said the Migration Department of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Human rights are not violated in Russia, so, according to the department, people should not count on international protection.

The practice of “inadequate assessment of applicants’ evidence by the Migration Department of the Ministry of Interior” was previously revealed by the Georgian Center for Social Justice. The evidence allegedly refers to “acts of violence and mistreatment by Russian law enforcement against people who were protesting against the Kremlin regime and the large-scale war in Ukraine, as well as openly supporting Ukraine.”

The organization believes that in these cases the department “did not take into account the reports of international organizations and many public evaluations, which clearly demonstrate facts of inadequate treatment of activists by the Russian law enforcement agencies and prison administration.”

“Taking into account individual circumstances, if detained, the persons concerned would not be at real risk of torture, ill-treatment or degrading treatment or punishment.” – stated the migration department in response.
