There may be an attempt to attack Iran’s nuclear targets, former Israeli PM said

Israel could launch a large-scale attack against Iran’s oil industry facilities, as well as facilities related to the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program. This was stated by the former prime minister of the Jewish State, Ehud Barak, in an interview with the British newspaper The Guardian.

“Israel has a pressing, even imperative, need to respond [на недавнюю атаку Ирана]. <> There may be an attempt to attack nuclear targets [в Иране]”, – he said, reports TASS.

He also suggested that the Jewish state would launch a “massive and repeated attack” against the Islamic Republic’s oil industry facilities.

At the same time, from the point of view of the former Israeli prime minister, such a possible attack would be more of a “symbolic nature” and could not cause significant damage to the Iranian nuclear industry, since Tehran has already made quite some progress. advanced in the development of its nuclear program and supposedly “is already close to possessing nuclear weapons.”

As reported, on the afternoon of October 1, Iran launched a massive missile attack against Israel in response to the assassinations of key people in the leadership of Hamas, Hezbollah and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Tehran said 90% of the missiles successfully hit their intended targets, while Israel claims Iran launched around 180 missiles and most of them were intercepted. The Israeli General Staff promised to “pick the moment” and surprise with a response to the attack, and Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, warned that attacks on Israel would become even more widespread.

EADaily adds that the former prime minister and former head of the Israeli army Naftali Bennett called for a decisive blow to Iran’s nuclear facilities. According to him, “now that Hezbollah and Hamas are paralyzed, Iran is defenseless.”

The Natanz Uranium Enrichment Complex and the Isfahan Nuclear Technology Center are two of the facilities at the heart of Iran’s nuclear program. Isfahan, the site of Israel’s response in April, is also home to a number of important facilities, including Iran’s defense plants.
