A powerful “M” class explosion occurred on the Sun.
Oku.AzAccording to information provided by TASS with reference to the Russian Institute of Applied Geophysics.
The explosion is reported to have lasted for about an hour.
“At 00:39 Moscow time (01:39 Baku time) on September 23, a 53-minute burst of M3.7/2N was recorded in the X-ray band in point group 3 835 (S20E63).”
It should be noted that solar flares are divided into five classes according to the power of X-ray radiation: “A”, “B”, “C”, “M” and “X”. The minimum class A0.0 corresponds to a radiation power of 10 nanowatts per square meter in Earth’s orbit. Moving to the next letter, the power increases 10 times. The flares are often accompanied by ejections of solar plasma, the clouds of which can cause magnetic storms when they reach the Earth.
