A magnitude 5.0 earthquake has struck the Nagorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan.

The tremors were recorded at 17:09 local time (16:09 Baku time) and originated at a depth of 200 km.
According to the coordinates announced by the center, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the mountains about 40 kilometers from the city of Khorog, the administrative center of the region, where about 30,000 people live.
There are no reports of casualties or damage.
